| Joint sealing is an essential part of any tiling, concrete or paving job. Without proper sealing of joints many problems may arise, from simple cracks, through to massive surface shifts.
This is why sufficient expansion joints are essential to allow for contraction due to natural earth movement and climate changes. Joint sealing has both a functional and aesthetic purpose. The functional aspect is to provide protection from water and in some cases also stopping the passage of air. |
At the same time, the purpose is to provide a flexible expansion joint between two building surfaces such as walls, concrete slabs, skirting to tile etc…The aesthetic aspect is the appearance of the seal and this is greatly affected by the tooling method of the applicator.
Applying a seal too thin will not serve its purpose to protect against water and air. A failed seal where there is insufficient elasticity will peel from the substrate. Please see below a range of services that we provide. |
